Looking Forward This 2018

Here’s to new doors of growth and opportunities this 2018! May God guide and lead us forward 🙂

See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
    and streams in the wasteland.

Adding Color to Your Working World

This is a sponsored post. All opinions are mine

I do not believe in constantly complaining to others about your job.

It’s really simple. If you no longer love your job, the company or the people you work with, then you should just start looking for another job. Leave with joy. Perhaps it’s time to spread your wings, your skills somewhere else.

But what if you are not ready to leave? Then face the issues, talk it out AND find solutions. Don’t get stuck with complaining. And perhaps you should work towards sharpening your working skills and even add a dash of color to your work life — to your working world. And perhaps, you can start with your hair.

Yup. No joke there. You can start with your hair. Make it a joy for you and for others to look at even if at work. Unless of course your office will say no to lovely hair. Investing in a good haircut, hair color and yes, wigs can be a cool idea.

See how amazing these wigs can possibly look on you while you work your way in a day (or in a night):

  • Go short and stylish with a bit of angst. This look might be your best yet. Project a “can-work-well-with-others look” with your unique personality still intact.
  • Opt for that clean, feminine look. Most people still equate femininity with a longer length of hair than say, a cropped hair look. Embrace the look with your favorite blazer or top.
  • Go with a hint of pink and show your artistic personality.  Or perhaps a hint of blue, green, purple. If it’s in the office setting, no need to shock others with loud, in-your-face full colors. Slight hints will suffice to let all know how artistic and creative you really are.
  • Mix it up and still look like a boss (which you are or soon will be). Who says your hair should always look neutral, bland in the work world? Let it bounce, let it show different shades of you.
  • Show a low maintenance but chic look.  Let it be known that you are here to focus on your job. Your hair won’t even be in the way. It will just stay as a chic crown on your head.

If you are wondering by now where in the world can you find such cool wigs, the answer is Divatress.

So, if you haven’t resolved your work issues yet in 2017. Make 2018 different. Go find a new job or find solutions to your present job situation. Work it out. And find ways to add color to your working world.

Changing Career Paths

Have you ever considered changing your career path?

Well, I have. And it can be quite a challenge.

Thankfully, you and I are not the first in considering a change in career. There were others who have done it ahead of us. And we can learn something from them.

I’ve found this insightful infographic below about making a change in one’s career path. Read on.

Leadership Matters

Have you been thrust into leadership positions at work or even in groups you have been joining?

Well, that has been my story this year. Thankfully, back in 2016, I took the time to enrol in an online course on leadership. That course has proven to be helpful for me.

In leadership, (well, just like any other area in life, really) there is always something to learn so it’s a good idea to learn from others, to read about it and yes, study it whether in an online or classroom setting should you be given the opportunity.

Do you know that there are at least 10 best known Leadership Theories? It’s good to know about them and it’s even better not only to reflect about them but to discuss them with others.

Personally, on my part, knowing these theories has helped me to reflect about what I know and understand about leadership, as well as to strive to become a much better leader.

Your Career and the Ocean

You have to think of your career the way you look at the ocean, deciding which wave you’re gonna take and which waves you’re not gonna take. Some of the waves are going to be big, some are gonna be small, sometimes the sea is going to be calm. Your career is not going to be one steady march upward to glory.
